OBJECTIVE:
The sound from the engine after the exhaust modification wasn't as mean as I wanted it to be. So I had to modify the air intake filter to achieve my goal.

SOLUTION:
Although this setup is not a true Cold Air Intake, it is similar to Stillen's Hi-Flow or Jim Wolf Technology's Pop Charger intake with a fraction of the cost. At the time of making this custom air intake, I couldn't find any aftermarket performance part for the 97-01 Q45's. The only thing that I found was the air intakes that I mentioned above. After taking a close look at those, I see nothing special from their intake. They consist of the air filter and the adapter. So I bought a kit of intake air filter and adapter for a 95-99 Sentra 1.6L from eBay. They fit perfectly. This is how they look like:

PARTS LIST:
Air intake filter and adapter for a 95-99 Sentra 1.6L
2 brackets (bought from Home Depot)

PROCEDURE:
1. Remove the factory air filter box.
2. Remove the MAF from the factory air filter box.

3. Place the adapter in place with the gastket in the middle. Note how they fit perfectly even the adapter was for a Sentra. I bet it would fit most of the Nissan's and Infiniti's, if not all.
